Apologies for not updating in so long.

Summer is absolute hell here and I've been running like a headless chicken since before the kids got out of school

As some of you may know, I was pretty broken up after we lost Stan, so once Caeser was done with all his vet visits, Shad told me I could find myself a new furbaby to keep me company.

Enter Maddie:



Two pounds of pure spitfire

We got lucky with her. She's a very sweet girl and puts up with SOOOO much crap it's unbelievable. She's got Shad completely wrapped and Caeser just loves her. I've always wanted a little orange tabby, and I finally found one.

Aside from that, it's just been maddening. Every weekend since mid-June has been something. Weddings, showers, birthdays, graduations, doctor visits, cleaning...and there's no real end in sight until September when the kids go back to school at which point I will be posting an enormous "Party at My House!" sign out front and going completely nuts with happiness.


My only sign of relief in between that will be when my sister, *Esin, visits here in a few weeks. It's been 15 years since we've seen each other, so if I'm giddy and stupid for a week or so toward the end of the month, that would be why

We have much plotting to do.

I'm horribly pissed that I missed the Toronto DevMeet, but that was a shower/wedding weekend...Hopefully one day we'll have one here in Buffalo or another Toronto one that I can plan for a little more in advance. Would have been cool to head up there and see folks and congratulate $Moonbeam13 on her wedding

Aside from that, things are pretty good. Shad's looking for a new job just because this one isn't paying the bills...nothing urgent, but would be nice to actually have something left over the day after he gets his check, yaknow...I'm still taking commissions to try and fill the money gaps, but they've been slow going.

I hope everyone else is doing well and that life is being good to you. A few of you I have heard aren't, and my candles are lit for you.
