...or "Are you Serious?"

This article came through facebook this morning, and got me inspired to do something off the cuff.

When you look at fantasy images of scantily clad women, do you honestly stop and think about what it is they're supposedly coming up against?

Now, as an artist, I'm sure I'm guilty of doing this once in a while - "Sex Sells" and all that rot - but really, take one look at this image and tell me if you think she *really* has any chance whatsoever of winning against an armored troll with a battleaxe as big as she is while she's all decked out in her chain mail bikini and sandals.

There is virtually nothing about this scenario that can go well for her. And whether or not I had posed it as a challenge or as a full on heat-of-battle kind of image (which I may yet do)....one swipe to her midsection and she's innards soup.

Does it show that she's a "powerful female figure"? - sure.
Does it show that she is confident? - absolutely.
Does it show that she is a "bad-assed , sexy heroine"? - ya.

But does it also show that she's probably a little touched in the head? - I think so...

As someone who is guilty of creating scantily clad heroines, I laughed my butt off at this! Of course, most of my heroines have some type of telekinetic ability up their tiny sleeves, but still; when you see a heroine in a metal or chain mail thong with high heels, you've got to wonder about her costumer - particularly if she's got boobs so big she's gotta have trouble walking on any planet with gravity. Great fantasy image and excellent laugh for the day!

I think she'll kick his ugly butt! That extra maneuverability need only last a few seconds until she can sink that sword into the chinks in his armor, then game over!

Of course, we've not even thought of something like magic...

From an artistic viewpoint, it's a beautiful image! Very realistic, with awesome lighting and background! The characters are very believable, too! I love it!

Really...
I mean, ever wonder what they do on a cold day?
Cause you normally also see them traveling with nothing but the clothes (or lack thereof) and their weapon. One stiff breeze....

Oh, but the less armour will give her increased maneuverability so she will be quicker and able to dodge the slow attacks... but still she's still fucked, she'll last an extra 20 seconds, but as soon as the monster lands a good whack on her shes mush!

And that underwear doesn't look comfortable... I wouldn't want to fight wearing that, even if I did have other clothes on... Leather Armour all the way!
