I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.

So...

Last night I was poking around online and found a site that will create maquette figures of original designs..and it got me thinking.

I've had The Rights of Absolution (Orchid's short stories) sitting in my computer for a good long while now, and have been pondering what to do with them. I thought maybe that I would start with Penance and perhaps put together a mini-comic? Then maybe go from there and see what happens.

I haven't gotten around to posting the other 6 shorts that I have written to follow it. I guess I'm still a mouse when it comes to her. And to be honest, trying to follow Penance has never been thrilling to me. It's her signature piece...how do you follow that?

Anyway, I'm just throwing out ideas--thus the poll.

Either way, I need a motivational kick in the ass to get me going.

Just so many things going on around here lately and I get burnt out very quick...So, looking for input

Hey, I think a figurine is a great idea for Orchid. As long as the finished product looks good, you may be onto something BIG. I've had several people ask if I would do that with some of my characters, though I had no idea where to start. I would like to ask if you would share the link to that site with me? They have a couple different options for their figures. Shad wants me to maybe order a few to see what the quality is and whatnot. I've got a partial design done and trying to decide whether to work on one or two more...put them up for a vote or something

With all the sites I've posted Penance on and the pics of her all over the place, she's got a small following. She's found some fans here at the local gaming stores, too...dunno...figure it's worth a shot
