I want to say thank you to anyone and everyone who has added my work to their favorites, or who has added me to their watch lists! I very much appreciate your support, as that's what keeps me coming back here! If I can't return the thanks personally, please let me extend it in advance! :heart:

:: Current Stuff ::

First of all, it is *WolfenM's Birthday today :)
Go give her love!
:blowkiss:

As for my silly request :blush:

Some of you may know, I'm an incurable rockhound. As ~Esin was reminded when she visited last month, it's VERY hard for me to walk by one of those displays with all the tumbled stones and not go "OOH!" and stop for 20 minutes just playing and rifling through - then walk out with $10 of rocks in a bag, perfectly giddy...

I'm a firm believer in the properties of stones (magnetic energies, metaphysical frequencies, etc, etc) and surround myself with those that I have a particular affinity for: Tiger's Eye (in every color), Moonstone (particularly peach), Hematite (cause, well...I need it), Fire Opal (because it suits me), Garnet (for lots of reasons) and Carnelian (because it loves me).

Anyway...

Several years ago, I had a particular piece of Carnelian that I carried EVERYWHERE. It was a palm-sized beast, so dark it was nearly black, that I had worried into almost a perfect oval.  When Shad and I moved to Tennessee, we lived with a dear friend of ours who was in poor health and later learned that she was battling cancer. When we decided to move here to NY, Shad and I got together some things for her to have, both to remember us by, and to help aid her in healing--among those items was my Carnelian (and btw, she'd been given 6 months not long after that, and 10 years later, she's still here :nod:).

While knowing that she had it, I felt good about the decision and never regretted it, but I have to admit that I've never really felt 100% since either. For a very long time, that had been my comfort item. Silly, I know...but it was.

One of the reasons I go hunting in the rock bins is because I've been looking for a large piece of black carnelian that fit nicely in my palm. I've been looking for almost 10 years now; unconsciously early on, but totally conscious of it the last few. I've looked online (which is kinda impossible when you're being specific), I've looked at the mall, I've looked at the metaphysical shoppes...I've looked everywhere.

So, my weird little request is to see if any of you (who don't think I'm a complete loon now) might have a peek around in the local rock bins (the large ones are usually about a dollar or so per stone) and see if you might find me a goodly sized, VERY dark (almost black), Carnelian.

I know it sounds silly, and most of you are probably going :confused:, but...silly things make me very happy :aww: It's one of those things that Shad regularly teases his friends about, because while they're pulling out their hair trying to figure out what to get their significant others for their birthdays and holidays, he can just laugh and literally say he's buying me a bag of rocks - and mean exactly that.

I'm a cheap date :shrug:

But, if you could do that for me, I'd be eternally grateful. I know it's a stretch trying to find something as specific as that, but I figure with folks looking all over the States and some overseas, my chances have to go up :)

I hope you've all had a beautiful summer and for those heading back to school, that your year goes smoothly.

Much love.

:heart:

No :hmm: Ended up going School Shopping and spending too much monies. Luckily it rained pretty hard a few days later, so it's cooled off considerably. Just hoping it doesn't shoot back up into the 90's again anytime soon!
